This research project is divided in five tasks
are as follows:
1- Literature Review Update
2- Detailed Planning
3- Development and Testing
4- Implementation and Assessment, and
5- Dissemination and Feedback
Following is a brief description of each task.
Task 1 - Literature Review Update
The first task will follow a descriptive methodology. The goal of this
task is to research state-of-the-art of:
a- Scheduling Practices,
b- DVR applications,
c- Edutainment,
d- Instructional/assessment tools and practices
Task 2 - Detailed Plan
The development of the detailed plan will be based on exploratory
methodology. The goal is to develop detailed goals and objectives to use
during the development of the edutainment DVR prototype.
Task 3 - Development and Testing
The third task will focus on the development and testing of the
Edutainment DVR prototype based on the detailed plan produced in task
two.
Task 4 - Implementation and Assessment
The implementation and assessment task will be based on an experimental
methodology. In this
research, the independent variable is the instructional media used to
develop higher-order thinking skills (traditional vs. edutainment DVR),
and the dependent variable is the cognitive level gained during the
learning process (higher-order thinking skills).
Task 5- Dissemination and Feedback
The fifth task main trust is to distribute the benefits of this research
to other institutions and individuals in the STEM community. The
dissemination will include: (1) methodology used to develop the
prototype and evaluation, (2) results from the classroom implementation,
and (3) modification procedures to implement in other STEM disciplines.
