Background of the Sports and High Performance Materials Center

The University of Southern Mississippi's Sports and High Performance Materials (SHPM) Center is a conduit for education and research in the growing sporting goods industry. The center's mission is to educate undergraduates who will lead product creation and technical marketing; conduct research to enhance safety, comfort and performance; and develop advanced product standards.

Abstract of the Virtual Reality Environment
The Virtual Reality walkthrough is an interactive environment accessible through the Internet that allows users to walk through the proposed facilities of the Sports and High Performance Materials (SHPM) Building. The Virtual Reality walkthrough provides an opportunity to experience first hand the SHPM's proposed facilities. The users can visualize the physical distribution of the spaces (laboratories and offices); equipment in the laboratories; and the possible activities to be performed in the laboratories. It is expected that this virtual reality walkthrough will allow the users to have a more enjoyable experience while learning about the SHPM Building.
